I worked with myHouseby to design and develop a responsive web application during my time at Expero. The application would allow prospective new home buyers to explore, personalize, and even explore their new home in VR within the application. I functioned as the lead UX designer as I partnered with Expero and myHouseby team members to iterate on and produce an MVP release for the myHouseby platform.

In particular I spearheaded the design process along with Chad Huff as we iterated on several approaches, refined complex interaction patterns, and defined a consistent experience when customizing across 2D, 3D and VR. I also lead efforts to document our design progress in Zeplin alongside style guide information and interaction prototypes.

The design process took us through multiple iterations based on stakeholder and user feedback, often inspired by a desire to differentiate from competition and appeal to a specific user audience. We designed in both high fidelity and low fidelity based on various project need at the time, which allowed us to effectively nail down a design direction and transition to MVP development within 6 weeks.

Several listing designs were considered and iterated upon before finalizing our design approach. These ideas were vetted by stakeholders, users, and key contacts in the real estate field.

The personalization design pattern that we developed allowed for a consistent experience whether users were viewing a 2D floorplan, 3D render, or VR model of their new home. This consistency allowed for an easier transition between these various viewing methods and created a sense of familiarity for myHouseby’s users.

Even seemingly small details such as result card size were incredibly important to get right, and we tested and refined these and other designs alongside larger design elements and workflows.

We used Zeplin as a source of truth and resource library for the entire project. Zeplin allowed us to store all of our spec documentation, icons, design patterns, style guidelines, and process artifacts in one accessible place for our entire team.
